The newsletter of the wine grower
La lettre du Vigneron - Autumn 2004
A Champagne on top of fashionLast spring newsletter of the Champagne René Geoffroy got a so very pleasant welcome that we are compelled to cultivate our differences and to reveal more and more secrets which make the quality of our Champagne wines.
So, it’s with pleasure and stage fright before the show of our creation which is intended for you to discover the unique Champagne “Rosé de Saignées” in our House, through this autumn newsletter.
Phenomenon of fashion for some people, the distinctive features of the Champagne Rosé undoubtedly make this vintage a regular success.
Judge for yourselves. Whereas 98 % Champagne Rosé wines are made from blend of red wine and white wine during the bottle wine, our Champagne Rosé is made like every traditional Rosé by the saignée method during the maceration of the Pinot Noir grapes.
Imagine : after a few hours, juice goes a beautiful bright and natural colour in contact with the skins of black grapes, and the mouth reveals exceptional aromas of red fruit with sumptuous vinosity.
Our eye and our mouth choose this magic moment to separate juice from solid elements which have been brought it this colour and these aromas. This famous method is called : the “Saignée”.
Such a genuine and poetic know-how, such a very expressive Champagne “Rosé de Saignée” have needed bottle worthy of it. Consider it done.
We almost told you everything. You will discover the rest drinking Champagne and we wish you the best and the most unforgettable tasting.
Have a good reading and see you soon ... Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy
