In Wine-growing, every year is a new year ; it depends on their own character and expression.
These changing years make one of the attractions of our trade : know each time how to take the best possible advantage of the nature’s differences.
It was the same for 2006, the year of all contrasts.
Last summer, violent storms ravaged a part of the Marne Valley except the Cumières Territory which experienced like elsewhere as the same scorching month of July as the heats of 2003.
Then, in August the weather was completely different : our village experienced several precipitations three times higher than the average.
For everyone who enjoy breaking the monotony, these so different weather conditions further the character and the aromatic complexity of grapes.
Each time, this is always a new challenge to the Champagne René Geoffroy and that still drives us to make, from each sunbeam, each dewdrop, each breath of air what you are in surch of : the unique Champagne.
So, the 1999 vintage that we show you today is the perfect result of this subtle blending.
You will find out what makes a vintage label by reading the content of the René Geoffroy’s vintage charter : that is requirement of perfection.
These rules are even more rigorous than those of the National Institute of Labels of Quality.
As the limited amount to 4 000 bottles show, they garantee you in particular the only selection of the best grapes of some old vineyards which are the origin of this Champagne wine.
So, we are glad to offer you an absolute purity Champagne containing the quintessence of a year.
Your tasty amazement in the first swallow, your smile of satisfaction in the second swallow, your deep pleasure in search of it will be ample reward for us.
