Blanc de Rose

Champagnes Story

Blanc de Rose

This “Blanc de Rose” Champagne, created by maceration, is the only one of its kind in the Champagne region. Most Rosé Champagnes containing chardonnay are the result of a blend. At Champagne René Geoffroy, the Rosé philosophy is a question of “saignée” or ‘bleeding’.
The idea therefore came about to create a Champagne Rosé de Saignée from a maceration of pinot noir and chardonnay, together in the same tank. The marriage of the chardonnay and pinot noir juices in contact with the skins of the two varietals provides a previously undiscovered harmony. An important first in the Champagne region...

Date of bottling : Mach 2009
Dosage : 4 g / litre - Extra Brut
Ageing potential Depending on individual preferences, this Rosé Champagne can be put away in the cellar for 5 to 8 years.
Tasting notes The idea behind this new cuvée was to create a different, lighter Rosé Champagne. The delicacy of the nose unveils rose petal notes and a hint of grenadine. On the palate, the remarkable minerality releases aromas of pink grapefruit and mandarin peel. All this is complemented by a superb bitterness and a very pleasant, fresh aftertaste.
Accompaniment This Blanc de Rose was born to be drunk as an aperitif. It would also go very well with raw fish however, such as a lightly marinated carpaccio of salmon and halibut, or simply a red tuna sashimi.

This is the first of our Champagnes with its label signed by Jean- Baptiste Geoffroy... The feminine touch of Karine can be seen in the choice of name for this Champagne, as well as in the design, which is full of audacity and originality. 2000 bottles available.
